Kung Pao!
I have no idea if Jeremey Lin will ever have an impact on Warriors wins or loses but i find myself giddy over his recent signing.
I know its never a good idea to buy into summer league performances, ah hem Marco Bellineli, but Lin certainly put on a show in Las Vegas.
Playing for Dallas, Lin pushed the tempo and proved displayed some strong point guard skills.
Lin, a harvard grad and a palo alto native, certainly has some charisma in his game and this has earned him a lot of followers over the years.
He has always played his best games against his toughest opponents, which is a good sign for NBA success. He dropped 30 on UConn, 25 on Boston College and 35 on Michigan.
In the NBA summer league he generated a lot of buzz by matching number one overall pick John Wall step for step and in the opinion of many, even outplaying him.
So its to early to tell, especially from the summer league, if Lin will be able to translate any of those skills to the NBA. Just like typical Warriors signings, he is a tweener. He played the off guard in college. He needs to develop a jumpshot, and his defense is lacking.
If he sticks in the NBA, it will because he can push the tempo, get to the hoop, and open up his teammates for some open looks.
By all accounts, he seems like a good kid, and a symbol for chinese americans, so their will be a lot of people pulling for him. Lets hope he can figure this thing out.
We believe!
