Chris Paul: On the Block

Sunday, July 25, 2010 , Posted by Coach KB at 9:00 AM

Finally Chris Paul is on the NBA trading block.

After the Hornets reached the Western Conference Semis and nearly surprised the eventual champion Spurs, they have been on a tailspin towards mediocrity.

Poor drafts, dumb signings and salary dumps have left the roster thin and uninspiring. It is no wonder that Chris Paul, already a seven year veteran, is itching to get out of town.

And can you really blame him? Now that his buddy Lebron James has freed himself from his Cleveland prison why shouldn't Paul leave his own city for greener pastures?

He wouldn't instantly make any team he goes to a title contender. The possible destinations at this early juncture appear to be New York Dallas, Portland, Orlando or Houston.

If the Hornets were in fact willing to part ways with their superstar, the most logical trading partner would be Dallas or Portland who could both give New Orleans a sizable amount of assets as well as afford to take on some of New Orleans poor contracts. (Okafor and Peja.)

It will certainly be interesting to find out if new GM Demps can convince Paul that their is a plan in place, because Paul truly does love living in New Orleans and has been a positive influence on the city, especially after Hurricane Katrina.

Possible destinations include Orlando, New York or Portland
