As in, "What the hell you mean my LSU tigers are picked by SEC writers to finish fourth in the SEC west."
Behind Alabama. Behind Arkansas and behind Auburn.
Really, that bad? I mean, last time i checked LSU had brought in a top five recruiting class every single year for the past decade. Last time i checked, LSU was home of two national titles over the past 7 years. And there getting picked fourth? I mean, i know that the team has fallen from its championship level norm over the past couple of years, but that does not mean that the other SEC west teams are catching up.
While we have certainly taken a couple steps down from Championship Mountain in the last couple of years, but we have not fallen BEHIND any of the other SEC teams, and more importantly, we still know the way back to the top.
We have recovered from the Ryan Perrilioux disaster and finally have some continuity at the Quarterback position. Miles has brought in a five star offensive line, and new quartet of young running backs is Michael Ford, Steven Riddley, Steven Ware and Richard Murphy and star playmakers Russell Sheppard and Terrance Tolliver. The defensive side of the ball boasts by far the strongest secondary in the leauge, headlined by Patrick Petterson, a star defensive line and a young but talented linebacking core.
I just dont understand how writers could pick Alabama, who lost three stars on the defensive side, and dont get to play a cupcake schedule this year, or Arkansas, who has Ryan Mallet and only Ryan Mallet. Hey Bama, enjoy playing Lsu and Florida on the road this year. And Arkansas fans, guess what. You had Ryan Mallet last year as well. How far did that get ya?
Im probably as biased as they come, but i still fully expect one hell of a season out of my tigers. Before the writres poll i thought we were going to have to live up to lofty expectations as usual, but instead we seem to be in an unfamiliar position.
